Today’s photos are from Kerri-Ann and Craig’s casual engagement session at Weston park in Yarralumla.
Weston park is located near the center of Canberra. It also has views of the National arboretum, and access to Lake Burley Griffin.
To start things off we walked to a small section of the park that was built up with large trees. The trees gave us some privacy, so Kerri-Ann and Craig could ease in to their session.
It wasn’t long before a mob of curious kangaroos stopped by for a look. After ten minutes of photos and a bit of a chat. We then took the path towards government house stopping along the way at key locations for photos. The path is a relative flat easy walk.
A bonus is that the park is so large, For the hour or so we were there. We only saw a hand full people walking around, Perfect!
When I suggested Weston Park as the location for their engagement session. I had a set of photos in mind that would work for them.
There is a spot about half way through the park. It has a small clearing, with views of the Arboretum and the lake.
I liked this particular location because it has some foreground interest with the reads and sweeping views of the Arboretum.
Nearby is a small bridge, plenty if private areas with shady trees.
Weston park as a whole is a good choice for a casual engagement session. Especially if you haven’t had your photo taken by a professional photographer before.
The casual setting of the park makes it easy for you to forget about the camera. Plus you don’t have to walk far to photograph a variety of locations.
There a hundreds of little spots for photos throughout the park. They are private enough, you won’t feel like your on public display.
