Wedding coverage for today’s wedding started at Vibe Hotel for getting ready photos. The ceremony was at the National Museum of Australia followed by bridal portraits at the Australian Garden of Dreams. with some of the photos taken inside the Portrait Gallery of Australia, followed the reception at the Gordon Darling Hall
Getting Ready – Vibe Hotel
The Vibe hotel was the venue for getting ready. When I arrived the girls room was a hive of activity putting the finishing touches to their makeup. We had plenty of time for photos in their robes and portraits of the bride.
When I arrived to photograph the guys they were already dressed and chilling while listening to music. I was treated to their dance routine for tonight’s dance off against the girls. Before leaving for the ceremony I was able to get some relaxed portraits of the groom.
Honestly, the BEST photographer for weddings. My videographer fell through on the wedding day and Mike came through with beautiful pictures. He made everyone feel beautiful and confident behind the camera. He is highly recommended.
Siobhan and Joshua
Ceremony – National Museum of Australia
I was privileged to witness Siobhan and Josh African wedding with the ceremony taking place at the National Museum of Australia.
They chose to have their wedding in the Peninsula room overlooking Lake Burley Griffin.
The pastor spoke eloquently and with a lot of passion explaining the true meaning of love, why we marry and Importance of marrying someone with good character.
At the conclusion of the ceremony we stepped out to the Australian Garden of Dreams to take the family portraits.
Bridal Portraits @ Portrait Gallery of Australia
The guest enjoyed capes out front of the portrait gallery. This gave us the opportunity to take some bridal party photos at the front of the gallery before we moved inside of the Portrait gallery of Australia to finish off the portraits before the start of reception.
Since it was a private function the portrait gallery was closed to the public and this meant that Josh and Siobhan had access to the whole gallery for their portraits.
One of my favourite photos from the bridal portraits was in one of the rooms filled with art work. I set up the scene as if it was an opening night for a gallery viewing.
Positioning Siobhan and Josh in the centre of the room and allowing the bridal party to be scattered as if they were art critics enjoying and talking about the priceless artwork on display.
Reception – Gordon Darling hall
The Gordon Darling Hall is the main entrance foyer of the Gallery, with its soaring ceiling and natural light it’s an excellent space for a wedding reception.
Receptions are an interesting part of a wedding you get to see family and friends and how they all connect with one another. This is one wedding reception that did not disappoint.
I remember Siobhan telling me that they work hard and this is an opportunity for them to relax and have fun.
And fun they did have displaying hands down the best dancing I’ve ever seen from a whole bridal party.
Starting with the announcement of the bridal party. Where they all danced in their own unique way as they entered the hall.
To the first dance Josh and the boys performed for Siobhan. Finishing off with a dance-off between the boys and girls of the bridal party.
